Want to take a few minutes and bask in Arlington civic pride? Then take a look at the article by Dan Solomon in the current issue of Texas Monthly. We all know that Arlington is becoming a destination in its own right. Texas Monthly seems to validate Arlington for the rest of the state.
Thanks to the CVB’s Decima Mullin, Solomon, along with some other media types, got the full-court Arlington press. They experienced the sports venues, the local chef-owned restaurants, the breweries and the extravagant hospitality of Live! by Loews. They saw how the Downtown is slowly becoming gentrified. They heard about the commitment private investors have made to continue the expansion of the entertainment district to the tune of $5 billion.
Solomon struck a balance in his article, not overlooking some work Arlington still has to do. All things considered the article highlights the confidence the community and potential investors have in the future of Arlington.
For those of us who went door-to-door, worked events and polling places to get The Ballpark in Arlington approved by voters, this is, however, a validation of our commitment to and love of our city. Mayor Tom would be proud.
