The Arlington Parks & Recreation Department is widely recognized as providing top-notch opportunities for local residents to enjoy its 4,700 acres of parks, playgrounds, trails and recreation facilities. Recent national honors the Arlington Parks & Recreation Department has received include selection as a Gold Medalist by the National Recreation and Park Association, designation as a Playful City USA from Kaboom! and selection as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

Arlington is home to the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Wings. We’ve rallied together as a city to build AT&T Stadium which opened in 2009 and the new Globe Live Field. More than 1.6 million tickets are sold to sporting events annually.
- Home to the NFL Dallas Cowboys and constructed to be the largest, most technologically advanced entertainment venue in the world, this architectural wonder spans 3 million square feet, with a seating capacity for over 100,000. The stadium hosts a variety of special events throughout the year, including the Cotton Bowl Classic, NCAA Basketball Regionals, world-class soccer, high school and college football, music concerts by popular artists, and other presentations. In 2015, AT&T Stadium hosted the first NCAA College Football Championship. As well as in 2019, the stadium will be hosting KAABOO, a five-star live entertainment experience. This features world-class music, hilarious comedy, inspiring contemporary art, delicious gourmet cuisine, and more. This event takes place May 10-12, with the full lineup announcement coming soon. AT&T Stadium is also famous for its two monumental arches and colossal HDTV video board, which is one of the largest in the world, the stadium also houses an impressive collection of contemporary art, including 50 pieces by 35 artists. Other features include the Cowboys Hall of Fame, a Pro Shop and a variety of food venues. Guided and self-guided tours are available.

- This impressive, baseball-only sports facility – previously known as the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington – opened in 1994 and seats more than 48,000. Texas Rangers fans never have to miss a play, thanks to the state-of-the-art video and audio systems and high definition digital content delivered throughout the park. Food and beverage options include more than 75 concessions stands spread over three concourses, plus the All You Can Eat Porch which offers unlimited food and snacks with reserved ticket seats. Other amenities include the Batter’s Eye Club, a party suite overlooking center field, and a youth center called the Kid Zone for birthday parties and other events. The Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame displays photos, plaques and artifacts from the franchise’s history. Behind the scenes tours of the ballpark ae available. (817-273-5099) Coming in 2020, the Texas Rangers will have a new stadium, Globe Life Field. This new stadium will feature a roof the first of its kind in baseball. With portions made of a transparent material, Rangers fans will enjoy outdoor ambience in air-conditioned comfort. The roof will be able to retract in minutes, bringing the outdoor ballpark experience. Globe Life Field will also host a multitude of events like collegiate sports, concerts, festivals, and other professional sporting events.

- Previously known as the Tulsa Shock, the Wings thought it has been long enough (30 years) since a WNBA team was in the Motorplex. With an abundance of young stars, Arlington is excited to be home to this organization.

- At 100,000 square feet, Esports Stadium Arlington is the largest dedicated esports facility in North America. The facility will serve as a turnkey solution for esports events and productions, built to serve the unique needs and demands of the esports community. Located at 1200 Ballpark Way, the Esports Stadium is in the newly designed Convention Center.

- Spanning 1,300 acres along the Trinity River, this popular park in North Arlington offers more than eight miles of paved hiking and biking trails, plus multiple spots for viewing wildlife and birds. The River Legacy Living Science Center offers environmental education programs and interactive exhibits for both children and adults.

- This city-owned reservoir at the western edge of Arlington was built in 1957 and covers approximately 2,000 surface acres, with a watershed of 143 square miles. This popular fishing spot offers the first lake-paddling trail in the DFW Metroplex, with boat ramps located at Bowman Springs Park, Eugene McCray Park and Richard Simpson Park.

- A 60,000-square-foot facility located along the Trinity River, the Elzie Odom Athletic Center offers fitness classes, camps and sports leagues with rooms available to rent for private parties, banquets and meetings. In October 2014, an official Bubble Soccer League began competing at the center. This action-packed sport from the UK has players wearing a giant inflatable bubble while playing soccer.

- The Arlington Tennis Center is an award-winning public tennis facility with 26 outdoor lighted courts. ATC offers classes, drills and leagues for players of all ages and abilities.
