Nearly twenty-five years ago, Texas Health Presbyterian Healthcare Resources, Harris Methodist Health System and Arlington Memorial Hospital came together to form Texas Health Resources. Since then, Texas Health Resources has expanded to become the largest healthcare provider in Texas, serving patients and employees alike through their commitment to social purpose. We are very lucky to have the headquarters of Texas Health Resources right here in Arlington. Recently, they released their “2022 Social Report Summary” which highlighted some of their exciting accomplishments from last year. These accomplishments have made quite the impact in the community and we are thrilled to have the support of Texas Health at the Chamber!
In 2022, Texas Health Resources renewed their commitment to charitable donations through providing nearly $874.3 million in charity care to members of underserved communities here in North Texas. Beyond that, Texas Health Resources has awarded $5 million in community grants which help provide North Texas citizens with pandemic relief, health-related programming, and other resources. Their commitment to helping under-resourced populations here in North Texas has been an integral part of their role in our community.
Furthermore, Texas Health Resources effectively increased access to care for patients across the metroplex. They also worked to deliver culturally competent care throughout the community and ensured their renewal to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles through remaining loyal to improving healthcare equity.
Not only has Texas Health Resources worked to serve our community through a variety of programs and donations, but they have served their workforce through reinforcing self-care, helping speed up the hiring process to offset staffing shortages, and making sure that all staff feel valued by upper management. This exceptional commitment to culture is shown through their recent rank as Fortune Magazine’s number one best healthcare provider to work for.
Texas Health Resources has also committed to improving the environment in North Texas through their sustainability practices. They have improved their facilities by increasing the efficiency of their energy and water sources. Furthermore, they have continued their commitment to recycling materials. Not only are they environmentally sustainable, but Texas Health Resources has resolved to make their business practices more sustainable through increasing their data analytics effectiveness, fortifying their supply chain, and making their medical facilities safer through increasing security. The effects of these initiatives have already been seen through decreased in lost-time injury rates, and COVID-19 exposures.
