Save the dates June 17-19, 2022, as the Arlington Martin Luther King Jr., Committee Inc. joins the Arlington Juneteenth Jubilee to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy and the emancipation of all.
The Jubilee is organized by a committee comprised of members from the following organizations and businesses: the Arlington Museum of Art, Viridian DFW, the Levitt Pavilion Arlington for the Performing Arts, the City of Arlington, Downtown Arlington, Arlington Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma and the Arlington Public Library.
Events scheduled include the MLK Day of Service, the Juneteenth Celebration at the Levitt and screenings of the “Echos from the Hill” documentary with more events coming. The “Echos from the Hill” documentary is a five-part series sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee. The first part is entitled, “A Place of our Own,’ and will be shown in its entirety throughout the Arlington Juneteenth Jubilee.
If you would like to inquire about supporting this event, please contact Mark Joeckel at mark@createarlington.com or (682) 248-8424.
This is the second Juneteenth Jubilee. The inaugural event brought in an estimated 2,500 attendees and 20 to 30 vendors. This year we are looking to quadruple in size, seeing that we are joining forces with so many fantastic organizations. The event will take place in downtown Arlington, will be free to attend and include live music, poetry readings, dancing, food trucks and more!
