Early voting for the November 5th election ends this Friday, November 1st, so make sure to cast your vote. While every election is important, the November 2019 election includes bonds that will specifically impact the business community. Although the Chamber advocates on behalf of all businesses, voting is still a critical way to make your voice be heard.
The Arlington Independent School District and Tarrant County College need your support during this election. Both these educational institutions have bonds up for election that are critical for the students of greater Arlington.
The Chamber fully endorses the AISD and TCC bond packages. AISD and TCC are essential links in our workforce development efforts, and these two bond packages provide funding for crucial infrastructure investments without raising the property tax rate. A vote “for” the AISD and TCC bond packages is a vote in favor of an educated and skilled talent pipeline.
People heading to the polls will also decide on ten ballot propositions. These propositions include issues such as doubling down on the prevention of a personal income tax in Texas, letting municipal judges hold more than one office and making it possible for animals of first responders to retire from service and live with their handler. While the Chamber has no position on these ten propositions, we encourage voters to be aware of every proposition and its impact.
When it comes to voting, being informed is vital. To help the voting process, we have identified resources to learn about the ten propositions on the November Ballot.
