Governor Abbott issued an order today, suspending elective surgeries in Dallas, Bexar, Harris and Travis Counties. Through amendments to the order, the Governor can add or subtract counties from the list as hospital capacity changes.
The Governor’s order instructs hospitals to postpone all surgeries and procedures not immediately medically necessary.
Tarrant County is not included on the list. Today the county reported over 1800 staffed hospital beds available along with over 400 ventilators. There are 321 confirmed Covid-19 beds occupied in the county.
