For most cities around the nation, the cost of living has gone up by almost 6% in just about a year and a half according to studies documented by Bankrate.com.
We all know that cost of living has skyrocketed over the past few years but one thing we may not have seen coming is goods and services rising to a 40-year high in 2023. With all of these rising prices, how are families and individuals supposed to make ends meet while also saving as much as they can?
The key to stretching your paycheck is location. Around the US, cost of living and stretching your dollar can look differently. For instance, if you live in New York City, your saving power and financial stability is not as feasible as if you were living in Arlington, Texas!
The truth behind this statement comes from an article written for Business Insider talking about places where your money can go further based on an income of $100,000. Although majority of the United States does not reach this threshold of income, this study and the findings can show you the cities and states that will allow you to get more bang for your buck.
Within this article, Arlington, Fort Worth, and San Antonio, TX all tied for seventh place on the list. All three have a buying power of $80,124 out of the $100,000 income measurement. Other cities in Texas like Houston, El Paso, Corpus Christie and Lubbock ranked even higher on the list. The city coming in at the top of the list that will allow you to stretch your dollar to the max is Memphis, TN.
We are very excited to see Arlington as one of the top places to stretch your dollar! We hope that this study will bring more people to Arlington and allow them to join in on all the amazing things happening in the area!
