Three Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce member businesses were listed in Fort Worth Inc Magazine’s 45 best companies to work for in Fort worth. This list recognizes companies that have “cracked the code on what it takes to create excellent office environments.”
This technology-focused design firm was rated number two in the small company category. mma’s vision for their team is “to empower our employees to be creative, collaborate ideas, and actively engage our clients to deliver a service which separates us from the competition.” They have accomplished this by providing a place for young professionals to find their passion and flourish. mma offers a life insurance policy that covers 100% of an employee’s annual salary, encourages work/life balance, and provides a lactation support program.
Curnett & Hafer LLP, an Arlington-based law firm, was also recognized as one of the best companies to work for in the small business category. Curnett and Hafer provide their employees with a family environment that is faith-based and inclusive. Benefits include Lunch & Learns, office-wide book studies, and an annual retreat. They aim for success by combining their employee’s “background, training, and experience with technology to provide big firm ability and boutique firm personal attention.”
In the medium-sized company category, United Way of Tarrant County won the number one company to work for in the category and best overall. United Way has provided over 100 years of service to the community, and are taking the initiative to invest knowledge and resources in their employees. They set their employees up for success by focusing on a culture of collaboration, hosting employee engagement events, providing learning opportunities, and implementing summer hours.
Criteria
The contest was run and judged by the Workforce Research Group, a Texas-based research firm. Companies submitted survey questionnaires about employee benefits, wellness initiatives, training, and more. They also agreed for some employees to be surveyed anonymously to see how they perceived their employer. Small businesses are categorized as having up to 49 employees. medium companies have between 50-249 employees, and large companies were defined as 250+ employees.
