In our ongoing series for Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re pleased to present another extraordinary business owner who plays a vital role in our community. Carmenza Moreno has been with Chick-fil-A for more than three decades, evolving from a zealous team member to a franchise owner of one of the most profitable locations in DFW. Little did she realize that her choice to join the home of the original chicken sandwich would shape her entire career.
Today, Carmenza is the proud owner-operator of Chick-fil-A North Collins Street, adjacent to our bustling Entertainment District. With 22 years of successful ownership under her belt, she continues to serve her community and maintain the exceptional standards that Chick-fil-A is renow ned for. Through her leadership, she stresses the importance of seeing team members as a cohesive unit both within stores and across the entire company.
When asked about the significance of influencing through positivity, she passionately states, “it’s important to encourage young people, including those in my own family, to find out what their purpose is early on so that they can make a difference.” Carmenza’s purpose is clear – she inspires everyone she meets to pursue their dreams with hope and enthusiasm.
Carmenza’s rise within Chick-fil-A didn’t happen overnight. She started as a cook but consistently demonstrated hard work, initiative, and leadership. Her dedication led to promotion after promotion. It was then that she realized her truest joy came from encouraging others and helping them reach their potential. The turning point of her career came when she and approached her operator with a bold question, “How do I get your job?” This question set her on the path to becoming an owner-operator, a milestone that she achieved in 2001.
Her journey within Chick-fil-A is not only a tale of personal success but also a testament to the company’s dedication to being a caring and involved member of the community. Under Carmenza’s leadership, Chick-fil-A North Collins Street actively engages with our community. Chick-fil-A’s mission extends beyond simply serving delicious chicken sandwiches and waffle fries. It is about becoming an integral part of people’s lives, supporting local causes, and fostering a sense of togetherness.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, let us draw inspiration from the resilience, creativity, and unwavering commitment of individuals like Carmenza. Their accomplishments are a reminder of the hard work fueling our flourishing business economy and the people behind its growth and vibrancy.
