The holiday season has arrived! As the season of giving begins, there are plenty of opportunities to give back to the community and get in the holiday spirit.
Mission Arlington
Mission Arlington is accepting donations from now until November 24th of Thanksgiving sides and turkeys for families in need this holiday season. Suggestions for donations include canned and boxed sides, such as canned sweet potatoes, stuffing mix, macaroni and cheese, beans/rice, cranberry sauce and anything else that would go with turkey and ham.
They are also looking for volunteers before Thanksgiving day to pack and prepare the meal baskets, and on Thanksgiving to help deliver food to the families. If you have time this month, head over to Mission Arlington to give a helping hand!
The Light Park – Starts Nov 4
Who needs to wait for December to visit the North Pole? Head on over to Hurricane Harbor for Arlington’s own drive-through light show to get a head start on all those holiday tidings! The Light Park will be open until January 1st so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the season. Tickets do sell out fast, so grab some for the whole family today.
Holiday Photography from Southern Flair – November 12-13 and November 19-20
Get your family pictures in time for Christmas with Southern Flair! Book the Santa Experience sessions on November 12-13 and November 19-20. Formal Family Portrait Mini Sessions are available on November 25. Kids Christmas Portraits (without Santa) Mini Sessions will be on November 26. No matter which session you book, all options make great images for gifts or Christmas cards!
Friendsgiving Trivia at Black Dog Arcade – Nov 16
If you’ve spent every Thanksgiving season re-watching Friends episodes, Black Dog Arcade is hosting the perfect trivia night for you and your friends. Come prepared with your knowledge of turkey-day-specific Friends facts and play along to put yourself in the festive spirit!
Giants vs Cowboys – Nov 24
America’s Team will be playing the Thanksgiving game here in Arlington this year. If sitting in the stadium isn’t your slice of pie, there are other ways you can participate in the football cheer. Fun Town RV is hosting a tailgate party outside of AT&T Stadium with a meet and greet with Bill Bates available. Tickets for this event are available on Facebook. Texas Live! will also be hosting their own event where you can tune in for halftime to see the Jonas Brothers performing their set!
Prairie Lights – Starts Nov 24
Visit our neighbors in Grand Prairie for their drive-through holiday light park which runs from November 24th to December 30th. It’s a short 20-minute drive from Downtown to Lynn Creek Park, but you can take the scenic route through neighborhoods for a chance to see even more Christmas lights.
Small Business Saturday- Nov 26
Canales Furniture will be hosting their first ever Small Business Saturday Mercado at 11 am. There will be food, drinks, local vendors, and music so stop by to support some Arlington’s amazing local businesses!
After Black Friday, be sure to shop local on Small Business Saturday to support the community that we have worked hard to build together. Arlington has a small business for every need and by shopping locally, you can find unique gifts while also helping the community.

Texas Christkindl Market – Starts Nov 25
Begin your holiday season with German festivities right here in Arlington! This market will bring handmade gifts from around the world to your backyard so be sure to shop for unique gifts that will be unlike anything else your loved ones will receive.
Fall Pup Photoshoot – Nov 29th-30th
Wag Time Pets is hosting an Autumn themed Photoshoot! Your pups will pose with pumpkins and fall leaves for this great fall photo-op. Photos will be $10/pet and will be sent to you in a report card.
World Ballet Series: Nutcracker – Dec 9
This magical classic is sure to celebrate all the dancing and prancing joy of the season. Join the Texas Hall Performing Arts Center for this fairytale adventure taking place on a Christmas night. The Nutcracker is performed by a multinational cast of 50 professional ballet dancers and offers entertainment for the entire family.
Holiday Lights Parade – Dec 10
Arlington’s Annual Holiday Lights Parade is a jolly tradition enjoyed by all locals. Festive fun will be enjoyed by family and friends alike, so don’t miss this event! The parade will be followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree at Levitt Pavilion.
Jingle Bell Run – Dec 10
Still needing to run off that Thanksgiving turkey and pumpkin pie? Sign up for the Jingle Bell Run and get decked out for this seasonal race. Funds will go towards The Arthritis Foundation, so get you and your friends ready to compete in this event for a good cause!
