This past week, some Chamber staff and the Chairman of the Board, all gathered at Mercury Chophouse to pay homage to a special group of Chamber Members – our Ambassadors.
Webster’s definition of Ambassador is as follows, “A diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment.”
The Chamber definition of our Ambassadors then, is, “A diplomatic (skilled in dealing with sensitive matters or people; tactful) agent of the highest rank accredited to the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce as a positive representative of the Chamber, gladly volunteering for many acts of service.”
One characteristic the Ambassadors have in common is their willingness to serve and give to others, realizing this is where true joy comes from. They offer a warm smile when new faces arrive at the Chamber events. They are the first to volunteer and the last to leave many Chamber events, helping whenever they can. They are encouragers, and we could not operate our Chamber without them. This luncheon is just a small way for the Chamber to show our appreciation for all that they do.
Next time you see a Chamber Ambassador, please give them a hug and thank them for helping the Chamber continue to be represented in a positive light. They will be easy to spot because they always smile and greet everyone. Thank you, Ambassadors, for your generosity and helping the greater Arlington area succeed!
