The Power of We: We are amazing. As individuals, we possess unique thoughts, emotions, skills, and creativity that make us who we are and enable us to contribute to the richness of the world around us. Our strength and potential multiply when we collaborate and work together towards a common purpose or goal. As women and as a community, we’re so successful because we recognize and celebrate individuality while understanding that the sum of our collective efforts far surpasses what any one person could achieve independently. Together, we become a force that can tackle larger challenges, accomplish grander goals, and bring our shared dreams to fruition.

Keynote Speaker: Leah M. King is responsible for leadership and vision development for United Way of Tarrant County as well as fiscal oversight, growing financial support, developing processes and new initiatives, facilitating cross-departmental and partner collaboration, and promoting a positive, multicultural environment. During Leah’s time as CEO, United Way of Tarrant County has invested tens of millions of dollars in the Tarrant County community through direct service programming, volunteer efforts, donor designations, agency allocations and the distribution of federal and state grants. As a community advocate, Leah was elected to the Tarrant Regional Water District’s board of directors and serves as its president. She also is a board member at Cook Children’s Medical Center, the Fort Worth Club, Baylor Scott and White Health, and T3 (Tarrant To & Through) and is an active member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, Trinity River Vision and Downtown TIF boards. Additionally, she serves on the President’s Advisory Council for Texas Wesleyan University. Every year since 2020, she has been named each year by Fort Worth Magazine as one of the Top 400 of Fort Worth’s Most Influential People. She also was recognized with the 2022 Opal Lee Trailblazer Award by Unity Unlimited, Inc. and is a founding member of the United Way of Tarrant County’s Women United group, having also served as its Women’s Fund development committee chair.

Silent Auction: At the very first IWL, we awarded one $1,000 scholarship with the donation coming from Dr. Judith J Carrier, former President of TTC-SE and the first-ever Chairwoman of the Chamber Board of Directors. That has grown significantly over the years thanks to our Silent Auction and Bling Boxes (more details on those below). 100% of the Silent Auction net proceeds go towards the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program. If you would like to donate an experience or item, please reach out to our Silent Auction Chair, Kelly Geer at kgeer@www.arlingtontx.com. We need all experiences and items donated by Friday, February 23.

Bling Boxes: When you purchase a $50 Bling Box, you help send young women to the colleges in our community – UTA and TCC-SE. Just as above, 100% of the net proceeds go toward the Dr. Judith J Carrier Scholarship Program.

Swag Bags: Send every attendee home with a piece of your business by adding an item to our Swag Bags! You can be in every bag (800 items) or half the bags (400 items). Suggested items include logo branded merch, gift certificates, and vouchers. Contact Sherry Jackson for more information.

Hero & Rising Star Awards: The Hero & Rising Star Awards are the most prestigious awards granted under the Women’s Alliance, recognizing women who are the very definition of a “servant leader.” These recipients continually prioritize their commitment to their community by paving the way for others to create change while leaving a legacy. To learn more about the Hero and Rising Awards and their past recipients, click here.

Scholarships: The Dr. Judith J. Carrier Scholarship Program is dedicated to cultivating and developing the next generation of women leaders by awarding over $19,000 in scholarships this year. Scholarship applications CLOSED on November 26. Learn More.

Woman-Owned Small Business Grant: Two small business grants are awarded to local female entrepreneurs each year. Nominations CLOSE on December 15. Learn More

Optional Professional Development: Each year, we provide an optional professional development for our IWL attendees to get the most out of their experience. Our panel will be announced soon! The session has a maximum capacity of 150 attendees. Make sure to reserve your seat! There is a separate fee of $20 per attendee, register here. You can only attend this session if you are attending the full luncheon.

Sponsors: We are incredibly thankful to all of our sponsors. Please take a moment to scroll through all of them below. We appreciate each business that supports the amazing causes of the Greater Arlington Chamber and the Women’s Alliance. If you would like to sponsor IWL, please contact Sherry Jackson.
