Business Profile: Prince Lebanese Grill

Prince Lebanese Grill has been a household name since the day they opened their doors in 1989 and there are no signs of them slowing down any time soon.

Family-owned and operated, the Kobty family has created quite the empire for themselves and a community that spans beyond Texas. At Prince, they are all about family, community, and hospitality, which can be seen through their every day actions and the ways in which they have built the community up through scholarships, community outreach, and delicious food.

Francis “Prince” Kobty moved to the United States in 1979 and would soon find what the American Dream was really about. His particular taste buds were not a fan of most foods so Prince decided that he would make his own delectable Lebanese dishes. Ten years later, the community would be able to enjoy all of the dishes that Prince curated for himself over the years.

In 2007, the Kobty family moved to their current location in a converted Sonic. With this move came some new menu items that included some of Prince’s moms recipes and the doors burst wide open for the Kobty family. The Arlington community showed up for them.

With the embrace and backing of the community, Prince Lebanese Grill has been able to be showcased on many levels including being featured on the Mayor of Flavor Town, Guy Fieri’s shows Guy’s Big Bite and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, both on the Food Network. Prince also has many accolades that prove just how tasty their fresh, high-quality ingredients and large portions are. They have also been recognized for their mouthwatering entrees and all around amazing service.

Although the restaurant has stayed in the same location over the past sixteen years, some things have changed. You can find Aziz Kobty, son of Francis, running around the streets of Arlington from one event to another. Whether they are catering for the Dallas Cowboys or popping in to treat AISD students to a delectable lunch, Prince is impacting Arlington and showing just how important it is to connect with the world around you.

The Kobty family has created a space for families to make memories and the restaurant has allowed the family to create fond memories of their own. The moments they have had at the restaurant mean even more after the passing of the Prince, Francis Kobty, in 2021.

If you haven’t tasted the legendary Chicken Shawarma or Gyros, you must stop by and enjoy the amazing customer service and whatever you do, DON’T FORGET THE HUMMUS!
