The University of Texas at Arlington honored “Maverick businesses” that are driving economic development through entrepreneurship at Mavs 100. The inaugural ceremony was a celebration of innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit cultivated in our community.

UTA has a regional economic impact of $ 17.1 billion. With the majority of alumni living in North Texas, they contribute significantly to the region. At the Mavs 100 ceremony, nearly 90% of businesses that were recognized are based in North Texas. These entrepreneurial UTA Mavericks are creating jobs and fueling economic growth.

One of the many ways the University of Texas at Arlington cultivates entrepreneurship is through EpIC Mavs. EpICMavs is a free weekly entrepreneurship program that assists students and local community members with developing startup companies. EpICMavs is presented by UTA’s tech transfer office, Innovation & Commercialization and the non-profit startup incubator TechFW.

Greater Arlington is home to a powerful entrepreneurial ecosystem. About 25% of the Mavs 100 businesses are based right here in greater Arlington. We are proud of the following 13 Chamber members that were honored at the ceremony: A+ Academy Driving School, Cadmus Dental, CHS Architects, Cloud 9 Perception, Inspirations Catering & Events, Oakhallow Group, OverRidge Wealth Advisors, Polo Carpet Cleaning, PSK, Resonant Sensors Incorporated (RSI), Sugar Bee Sweets, The Sanford House and Women’s Health Services.

The Chamber is thankful to be a part of a community that fosters entrepreneurship. CLICK HERE to learn more about Mavs 100 and how UTA is cultivating entrepreneurship in our community.
