The 18th Annual What’s Your Big Idea? Entrepreneurship Contest Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 27 was an unparalleled event that captivated the Arlington community. With a record-breaking 700 student finalists, including 48 recognized in both categories, the stage was set for an extraordinary showcase of innovation and talent.
The event also marked a significant moment with the introduction of the new Arlington ISD Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Matt Smith, adding to the excitement and anticipation. During the ceremony, Dr. Smith recognized nine AISD campuses for their commitment to fostering the entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding participation.
The anticipation was palpable as the finalist awaited the announcement of first, second, and third place for each grade-level and category. These young entrepreneurs left a lasting impression with their groundbreaking ideas and determination to succeed.
Further adding to the excitement of the ceremony, the first-place winners were awarded a scholarship to attend the exclusive one-week summer camp, The Big Idea Lab. Designed to nurture and develop the promising entrepreneurial spirit, this camp offers a unique opportunity for these young innovators to delve deeper into their award-winning big ideas. With expert guidance and hands-on activities, they will not only expand on their initial concepts but also learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. This additionally lays a foundation for future success no matter what career they choose.
