Community Leader Profile: Deborah Su

Deborah R. Su is a vibrant leader within the Arlington community and has been a resident since 1996. She has had quite the career as she has worked within the healthcare industry, local community/business development as well as physician and medical staffing. Today, you can find her as the Branch Manager for ADASTAFF’s Arlington location, a woman-owned staffing/employment agency that serves large corporate accounts, public entities and municipalities.

Deborah became Branch Manager in December of 2021 and was the perfect choice for the position. Although her main role requires management of sales and growth for the Arlington location, Deborah is able to pursue her love of uplifting women in this position as well. As ADASTAFF is a woman-owned business, they have an intrinsic interest in helping women finding jobs that suits them and their needs. Deborah believes this to be one of the most rewarding parts of the job and she is grateful to be part of a team that assists in changing lives and making a life-long impact.

It is truly amazing to see the influence that Deborah has had not only in her job but in the community. We love seeing just how many organizations, committees and initiatives that she is a part of within the greater Arlington area. When Deborah is not working you can find her volunteering at multiple chambers of commerce, UTA and is very active in the Asian American/Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in DFW and the Greater Arlington Chamber’s Women’s Alliance.

“My involvement with the local chambers and business community enabled me to stay current with the industry and contacts and I was fortunate enough to be a professional colleague of Marie Mumme, ADASTAFF owner and President, and she encouraged me to become involved once again in the Recruitment world. One thing led to another and I find myself challenged and inspired every day in this new endeavor,” Says Deborah.

As an advocate for women’s health and education, Deborah can also be found volunteering for March of Dimes-March for Babies, Susan G. Komen, ALS and MS Societies. She is passionate about women’s access to good healthcare and resources as well as the value of women empowerment and inclusivity.

When asked why she loves Arlington, Deborah said, “What I love about Arlington is its diversity, access to exemplary education, incredible entertainment, sport, and food options and its easy access for travel.” She also is fond of the Can Do attitude throughout the community, the optimistic leaders, and the overflowing opportunities of living and/or working in Arlington.

“Witnessing and being a part of Arlington’s growth is why I choose to stay in Arlington. It is a pleasure seeing new businesses thrive and all the new opportunities that are available. I am proud of what Arlington has accomplished and look forward to the future. New jobs, inclusion and education, increasing access and growth for women owned businesses is inspiring and I encourage everyone to come eat, work, play and stay in Arlington!”
