If you have met Austin Alburtis, you might think that he is a native to Arlington and has been in insurance for years upon years. Austin is a natural at connecting with people and building relationships, and even though he has just recently joined the Arlington community, he is already making quite the impact.
Austin is an agent for Allstate and currently works as the Senior Sales Advisor at the Alexander Agency LLC. After getting licensed as an insurance agent less than a year ago, Austin made the choice to be a representative for Allstate due to the amazing reputation they have along with the fact that they are a little more difficult to pitch to clients.
As an ex-athlete, Austin has always enjoyed some healthy competition and thrives in that environment. When asked why he chose the insurance route after retiring from the NFL, Austin says, “It’s not easy, that is why I chose it. I love the challenge and it keeps me feeling young.”
While interviewing him, we learned just how caring Austin is about his clients and the people he serves on a daily basis. “I help people not only with insurance but I like to pride myself on helping individuals that need a break. Most of my fulfillment comes from helping actual people who did not know that they could get better quotes or showing them that there is a way out and a way in,” he said with a proud smile on his face. Helping people is truly one of his main driving forces for why he chose this field.
Austin has worked his way up very quickly and has no plans of stopping. He says, “This is the job that makes me happy to get up every morning and put on one of my beloved suits. It is a fulfilling life.”
Arlington is a melting pot for success which drew Austin to the area. He has found that connecting with people and being out in the community makes all the difference not only for his business but for the personal relationships he gets to build with other community and business leaders.
He is currently the highest selling agent at the Alexander Agency (which allows him to have the knight in shining armor, Mr. Sales-a-lot, pictured above, in his office) and is an active member of the Chamber’s Asian Business Council.
