Business Profile: Divalicious Delights

Roshale Thompson, owner of Divalicious Delights, is a passionate educator and baker. From a young age, Roshale loved using her easy-bake oven to copy the desserts her mother baked in the kitchen. She loved the creative outlet that baking allowed and saw a future that would become a reality.

After graduating from Bowie High School, Roshale attended the University of Texas at Arlington for her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees in education. Her love for educating people and baking went hand-in-hand and she knew that after she retired from her education career that she would open her own bakery. Roshale spent 15 years working at Arlington ISD, and loved every second of it. Her need to make an impact not only in the community but for future generations was the driving force for going into education in the first place.

During the Pandemic, Roshale made a decision to retire early from her education career and begin working on opening her own bakery. “My dream for later, came earlier,” said Roshale while reminiscing on the decision to go full-time with Divalicious Delights. This decision was not an easy one to make but Roshale wanted to show her students and others in the community that you should follow your heart, no matter what you do. She said, “You can do both, it doesn’t need to be either or. Your passion is what drives you and I want younger generations to dream big.”

As she has transitioned into being a small business owner, Roshale feels as if she has a responsibility to serve the Arlington community in the sweetest way possible. She is actively learning how to wear all the hats and looking for opportunities to grow her business and recruit some help along the way. Divalicious Delights offers delicious treats from cookies to custom cakes. If you are interested in all the sweet treats they offer or would like to order a custom cake for an event, click here.

The future is looking extra sweet for Roshale Thompson. Her plans over the next year include creating a workshop program to teach baking and sharing the resources she has found most helpful in opening her own business. “If you don’t share your knowledge, no one can prosper,” she said. Her need to serve and support the community that has supported her for all these years is beautiful to watch.

At the Chamber, Roshale Thompson is a true light in the community and it is an honor to have her as a part of our ever-growing family. We are wishing her all the luck as she continues to grow and give back to the community.
