Charletra Sharp is a native of Arlington who has made an impact in the community for decades. She returned to the area after college and has truly made her mark on the community through working as a department director at a local nonprofit, Center for Transforming Lives.
Charletra currently oversees economic mobility services provided by the organization. Although she is still working full-time at the Center for Transforming Lives, Charletra is making more waves in building up our community by opening her own neighborhood coffee shop, Cup O’ Vibes.
When asked what made her want to open a coffee shop, Charletra said, “Working remotely during the pandemic is what initially prompted me to consider opening a coffee shop. Pre-pandemic, I would frequent Black Coffee in Fort Worth. I enjoyed the diversity of its guests being near a university in a primarily residential neighborhood.” Her need to create an intimate gathering space was so strong that she found a way to give the community a place that would allow social interaction and minimize the spread of COVID-19.
You might be wondering how someone could manage an entire coffee shop and still be working a full-time job. “My faith, support system, and amazing community lovin’ baristas are what allow me to manage the responsibilities of our business and a full-time job,” said Charletra. Her team has mastered the vision of Cup O’ Vibes in only six months and are reliable as well as coachable.

Charletra is the type of person that makes the community a better place. For that reason, she was one of the recipients of our 2023 Chamber’s Small Business Grants awarded at our Annual Inspired Women Luncheon. Upcoming Event at Cup O’ Vibes:
This Saturday, March 18, 2023, Cup o’ Vibes is running a special for their neighbors who live in the zip code 76018. With a photo ID verifying that you live in the zip code, neighbors are able to get up to two 12oz “latte your ways” (one flavor) or a house refresher for $1.80 from 7a-10a; extra flavors and alternative milks are available at an additional cost. Specials will also be available for signature drinks and guests who do not live in the zip code.
