During the second edition of the Business Leaders Series, Steven Gonzalez, Business Services Director for Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County, discussed their rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

They have implemented a rapid response program to provide immediate aid to companies and affected workers to ensure reemployment and minimize negative impact. Gonzalez discussed how businesses can list open positions and how job seekers can gain access to apply for employment opportunities. He shared that a number of businesses are looking for employees. While giving examples of booming industries, he mentioned Amazon and Walmart are seeking thousands of new employees nationally. He also provided recommendations for businesses facing a lull in activity; that it may be a perfect time to focus on training and development for employees through online resources or certifications.
