Better Together: Cover All Bases and Miracle League DFW Team Up for a Home Run Season

The past two years, Miracle League DFW and Cover All Bases have teamed up for a home run partnership.

If you are unaware of these two organizations, you have to get on board with the amazing work they are doing within the community. Miracle League DFW is a nonprofit organization that provides an opportunity for children and adults with special abilities to play baseball. The DFW chapter of Miracle League was established in 2004.

Cover All Bases is a baseball training center that allows kids to have an opportunity to work with pro coaches and build their skills as they head into varying leagues. CAB is shaping the future of baseball in DFW by blending mindset with mechanics to build a strong foundation on and off the field.

Grace Whetstone, Executive Director of Miracle League DFW, and Cameron Monger, Co-owner of Cover All Bases, met before the Pandemic when Cameron came out to the Arlington Miracle League Field to be a volunteer and offer a free clinic for players. Sadly, this was a short-lived connection, as the COVID-19 Pandemic raged through the world and stopped all sports from taking place.

Luckily, when in-person events started back up at the Chamber, Grace and Cameron reconnected at one of our monthly networking events, Business Over Breakfast. Through this rekindling, they were able to coordinate clinics with Miracle League players in the Cover All Bases facility.

For the past two seasons, this collaboration has allowed for Miracle League players to get proper training and taught the basics of baseball. Grace Whetstone said, “It’s great to partner with someone who shares a love for baseball! Cover All Bases helps with the fundamentals of baseball. That may be, for some players, just holding a bat or baseball for the first time.”

In reference to this beautiful partnership, Cameron Monger said, “Being able to partner with the Miracle League is truly special. Using our personal skills to positively impact other lives is a guiding force in the day-to-day decisions at Cover All Bases. When given the opportunity to help out an organization that has consistently done that for the Arlington community, we are glad to lend a hand and we hope that all our local friends and families will consider volunteering.”

By giving these children and adults the opportunity to do something that they never thought they could do and giving them the resources to succeed, Miracle League DFW and Cover All Bases is showing the community that through collaboration you can make dreams come true.

Both of these organizations are making a true impact in the community and at the Chamber. We are very proud to call them Chamber members and will be cheering in the stands for not only the kids, but for all the hard work that Grace and Cameron have put into creating a league of their own.
