The Dallas Wings are Brewing Up Big Partnerships: How Cup O’ Vibes and the Wings are Better Together

When you first think of the Dallas Wings, you might recall their achievements in basketball. We’re here to tell you that basketball is only small part of the role the Wings play in our community. From the Dallas Wings Community Foundation that promotes youth sports, social justice, education and more, to the commitment individual players make to giving back to the community, the Dallas Wings are a staple in Arlington. 

More recently, the wings launched their AMP.E.D. (amplify, educate, and diversify) initiative which highlights local minority owned businesses. The hope is to help patrons diversify the businesses they support, while also educating spectators on how important it is to support minority-owned businesses. This is integral in amplifying local minority brands to a wide variety of new consumers. When businesses are featured in AMP.E.D, they are part of a full partnership with the team that includes a marketing collaboration with the Dallas Wings, in-arena networking and brand promotion, and special ticket offers. 

In February of 2023, the Wings featured Cup O’ Vibes, new, Black-owned, coffee shop right here in Arlington. The regularly changing and delicious menu is not the only thing that makes Cup O’ Vibes stand out. As soon as you walk in, you can feel a collaborative and family-like culture throughout the shop. Their mantra, “brewing community, serving culture”, is not something owner Charletra Sharp takes lightly. Sharp says that Cup O’ Vibes is to be used to build community through “meetings, birthday gatherings, worship events, book signings and more.” As an Arlington native, she noticed the need for a “community staple” which she has created through Cup O’ Vibes. 

By partnering with the Dallas Wings, Cup O’ Vibes has been able to reach a whole new group of potential customers. From Facebook posts, to special ticket incentives, the Wings partnership helped to take Cup O’ Vibes to a whole new level. 

In partnering with Cup O’ Vibes and other local minority-owned businesses, The Wings can also increase attendance at games and further their brand as an uplifting part of the community. Working with local businesses assists in fostering further economic development in minority communities while also gaining brand recognition across the North Texas area. Cup O’ Vibes and the Dallas Wings are better together!
