Tarrant County Days at the Capitol in Austin: 88th Legislative Session Recap

Here at the Chamber, we are honored to advocate for you. Our Public Policy and Advocacy department works hard to support our key pillars to “amplify the voice of business.” Business opinions shared by the majority of Chamber members are identified and crafted into legislative agendas. Those agendas are communicated to legislators and members at many levels of government.

During Tarrant County Days, Chambers of Commerce from around the county are invited to the State Capitol to connect with our elected officials at the state level.

On March 22nd and 23rd, attendees heard from State Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, State Rep. Charlie Geren, State Rep. Craig Goldman, State Rep. Stephanie Klick, State Rep. Chris Turner, State Senator Brian Birdwell, State Senator Kelly Hancock, State Senator Phil King, State Senator Tan Parker, State Senator Royce West, Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare, Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar and Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker.

The 88th Legislative Session marks the return of an in person visit to Austin for Tarrant County Days, as the 2021 session was held virtually on Zoom. With a head count of 160 members from our Chamber and a total of 9 other Chambers joining us, we are thrilled with the success of another great legislative session.

The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce is delighted to host an event where your voice has a direct impact on our business environment. We work diligently to amplify the voice of our members at all levels of government, and our vision is for legislation which will result in the greatest economic and community prosperity.
