2022 Year in Review: Highlighting Arlington’s Successes

2022 has officially ended, and what a year it has been. We at the chamber are excited about what 2023 has in store but can’t help but reminisce on some of Arlington’s incredible moments in 2022. Here are a few of our favorite highlights of last year!

1. The Sanford House celebrated 25 years in business

2. Canales Furniture, local family-owned business, opened its Legacy Store and largest distribution center

3. Smoke N Ash BBQ was listed in New York Times as one of 2022’s best restaurants and was featured on the CBS Morning Show

4. Wallbox, an electric vehicle charging company, opened its first North American facility in Arlington

5. Spark Arlington, creative workspace for entrepreneurs, announced a new location at Choctaw Stadium

6. Mickey Guyton, an Arlington native, who was the first African American woman to win Grammy, performed the national anthem at Superbowl LVI

7. The Dallas Jackals, Arlington’s newest professional rugby team, played their inaugural season at Choctaw Stadium

8. Healthgrade named Medical City Arlington among America’s 250 best hospitals

9. The National Medal of Honor Museum broke ground in the Entertainment District

10. UTA’s Women’s Basketball Team competed in the NCAA tournament after winning the Sunbelt Conference

11.The Arlington community joined to raise more than $32,000 to aid Ukrainian refugees seeking safe haven in Arlington’s long-time German Sister City, Bad Königshofen

12. Monkeygeek named Arlington in the top 15 safest large cities

13. Arlington recognized its next generation of business and community leaders with the inaugural 40 under 40 class

14. mma, Curnett and Hafer LLP, and United Way of Tarrant County were listed in Fort Worth INC’s top 45 best companies to work for in Fort Worth

15. Arlington was announced as the new hub of the XFL, including new team, Arlington Renegades
