Urban Country Flower Co. Spreads Love by Giving Away Flowers

The greater Arlington business community continues to show acts of kindness when it comes to these difficult times. Urban Country Flower Co. located in Pantego, is one of those businesses who is shining a positive light on our community. The local flower shop did three days’ worth of flower giveaways as a way to bring people together and to donate to local charities.

At the end of March, Greenleaf Wholesale and Fleursmetz needed to dispose of a week’s worth of flowers due to Dallas County announcing their stay-at-home order. Hoping they could be useful to other florists, they reached out to Urban Country Flower Co. asking if they wanted them for free. “We decided since it would be gifted to us, we would regift to the community. We were very surprised by the number of flowers they were willing to give. Since David and I do not understand hunger in our community, we asked people to make donations to the Arlington food bank. We made mix boxes of flowers, then posted on Facebook, for the community to stop by and pick up a box to share with their friends, family and neighbors. Greenleaf was so impressed with what we did for the food bank, they gifted us a second batch of flowers. We were able to do three days of giveaways,” Owner Tommy Teasdale said.

Around 20,000 flowers and greens were given away for free to the community. In addition to the flower giveaway, Tommy and David were able to give three local restaurants and a coffee shop flowers to give away with takeout orders. “Our wholesale houses were very generous. Through their generosity we were able to share,” Tommy said.

The greater Arlington community is coming out in full force to help others and we are thankful for the generosity that is being shown. If you know of a company that is supporting our community, please let us know! You can email marketing@arlingtontx.com with details and contact information.
