Dee was an esteemed leader in Fort Worth and Tarrant County with an almost 50-year career that stretched across TXU and the Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce. He was so proud of his path from I.M. Terrell High School to Texas Wesleyan and his passion for his community never wavered. He could share with you the many recognitions and accolades that had been bestowed on him and the significant impact he made on Fort Worth and beyond, but in his humble way he was more likely to share with you his role on the I.M. Terrell 1965 State Basketball Championship and his love for his legendary coach Robert Hughes.
“Dee was unique leader who was capable of achieving results by encouraging the heart, bringing data and analytics to the table and remaining courageously steadfast to his convictions,” said Michael Jacobson, President and CEO of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce. “He has been a friend for over 25 years and I will miss his graciousness, warm smile and encouraging words.”
Mr. Jennings was an active member of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental in building a strong relationship between our two Chambers of Commerce. He was a key participant in the Community Influence Leaders Roundtable which was instrumental in developing goals for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises which were later adopted by the Arlington City Council.
