On January 12th, the 87th Texas Legislature will gavel into session. As a state that convenes every other year, there’s a lot to accomplish starting day one. The Greater Arlington Chamber serves as the voice of our business community, and we’ve put together a robust legislative agenda for the upcoming session. We will bring you updates throughout the session on our blog as well as through email. If you’re interested in learning more about the inner workings of the Texas legislature, the Texas Tribune has put together a great primer video. It talks about the organization, the players, how a bill becomes law, how Texas differs from other states and from the US Congress. It is informative and entertaining.
