Holiday Cheer is Good for Business

The holidays are quickly approaching, and for business owners, this is the perfect time to embrace the hustle and bustle. We at the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce have a few tips on how to promote your business this holiday season.

 Decorate

A great way to bring customers in is by creating a festive and inviting atmosphere that makes their experience special. You could add a door wreath, a window display, or even decorate your entire store. This special touch could be what draws customers inside.

Gift Guide

Gift guides are a great way to showcase your inventory to a wide range of consumers. Customers could be holiday shopping for family members, coworkers, friends, or even their dogs!

Creating unique gift guides for each audience makes it easier for customers to find what they are looking for and guide them through shopping with you. Canva is a user-friendly website where you can create your own. Guides could be printed out and left on displays, posted to your website, and promoted on social media.

Holiday Special

Everybody loves a good sale. You’ve got them in the door with your spectacular decorations and given them a gift guide. Next up, you could drive the purchase home by offering a holiday discount.

Try offering 10% off holiday items, buy two get one free, or even have customers sing a carol at the register for a holiday coupon. Most businesses will have holiday discounts; by adding one, you’ll be competitive in the market, and when customers are scanning for the best deals, they’ll come to you.

Give Back

The holidays are a time for giving, even for businesses. Showing customers that your business is actively working to help the community shows them that they can help support the community by shopping at your business. Knowing this, they will be more likely to return. Assisting a local food pantry, community shelter, or charity is a great way to give back this season.

A Sweet Treat

A day of shopping can work up a person’s appetite. A small treat could get and keep customers in your store. Restaurants could give a discount on desserts, have a small sample while guests wait or, if you are a store owner, have a hot cocoa bar or packaged snacks table. Even something as simple as candy canes are a great way to get in the holiday spirit and show customers you are going the extra mile.

These are just a few ways to help gain and retain customers this holiday season. Show us how your business embraces the holiday spirit by tagging us in your fun holiday pics. Happy Holidays to all!
