Restaurants Now Delivering Alcohol with Take-Out Orders

As the residents of the greater Arlington community practice social distancing, it doesn’t mean we have to sacrifice being social. We need to be more creative with how we interact with one another during this time. Many of us already know that local restaurants are providing alternatives such as pick-up and delivery options, but did you know that you can also enjoy alcoholic beverages delivered right to your doorstep?

Yep, you read that right! In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Gregg Abbot issued a waiver that allows restaurants to deliver alcohol with food purchase, including beer, wine and mixed drinks. While this is excellent news for those who miss visiting their favorite social hot spots, it also allows restaurants the ability to operate as it is accustomed to without losing a major source of revenue.

“The State of Texas is committed to supporting retailers, restaurants, and their employees,” Abbott said in a statement. “These waivers will allow restaurants to provide enhanced delivery options to consumers during this temporary period of social distancing.”

Whether you are settling in for a movie night, hosting a virtual happy hour with your employees, co-workers or friends or want to have a special evening, there are plenty of restaurants ready to bring you delicious food and a beverage of your choice.

We encourage you to continue to support our local restaurants from the comfort of your own home! CLICK HERE to view a list of local restaurants that are serving our community by offering delivery, drive-through and order-for-pick up.
