DFW COVID-19 Prevalence Study Invites People to Join the Fight Against Coronavirus

COVID-19 has been difficult for both businesses and individuals, but we will get through this together. Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern Medical Center are inviting businesses and community members to help them find new ways to overcome challenges brought on by the pandemic.

In partnership with Texas Health Resources, UT Southwestern Medical Center has launched a major COVID-19 prevalence study to address the pandemic’s economic and human costs. The study is designed to help policymakers, business and civic leaders and the general public make smart, informed COVID-19 decisions now and moving forward through the end of the crisis.

Initially, the test will include 44,000 individuals – spanning the full breadth of socio-economic, racial, and geographic diversity throughout Dallas and Tarrant Counties – to understand the true prevalence of COVID-19 in North Texas. Included in this testing schedule are 14,000 non-medical essential workers and 30,000 community members.

Businesses based in either Dallas or Tarrant counties and have employees who are considered essential can make a difference by joining the study. The testing for employees participating in the study will be at no cost to the employer or employee. Participating Businesses will need to review and sign an MOU (memorandum of understanding) and are asked to encourage employees to participate. CLICK HERE to download and share flyers.

While the COVID-19 prevalence study is asking for the support of businesses, individuals can also join. Participating community members must be residents of either Dallas or Tarrant counties between the ages of 18 and 90 years old.
