Coaching Hour Recap: Na’Kedra Rodgers

This recap blog was written by Na’Kedra Rodgers with OptimisticallyKe, a member of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce as part of our Coaching Hour Series.

On January 24, Na’Kedra Rodgers, Christian Motivational Speaker and Author, presented her signature message Winning Mindset for Coaching Hour at the Chamber. It was an interactive session as Na’Kedra encouraged active participation from the attendees.

She began with a brief overview of her business, how she got started and what she’s been up to since that time. Na’Kedra then began to ask the attendees a series of questions about their dreams and aspirations and if they had a plan in place to achieve their goals. She talked about mindset being the established set of beliefs held by someone and that your mindset is shaped in your formative years.

Na’Kedra described in detail the three components of a winning mindset: vision, believe (buy-in) and implement. When you have a clear vision, you’re able to organize your thoughts, be strategic when planning and factor in wiggle room for obstacles that you will encounter. The main takeaway from this key component is not just starting, but to remain consistent. Despite any opposition that will occur, you must stay the course.

The next key component is believe or buy-in. Na’Kedra stressed that everyone in the room is more than capable of doing the job and that greatness lives inside of them; the time is now to unlock it. She encouraged the attendees to put aside fear, excuses and past hang-ups and chase their dreams. Even if people around you don’t believe in your vision, don’t let it deter you from doing great things. Don’t let it keep you from thinking outside the box and doing something outside your comfort zone.

The last component of winning mindset is implementation. Be assertive and go after what you want. Use the resources available to you and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Continue to build relationships and network with as many people as possible. Collaborate with others who are subject matter experts in fields not similar to yours. Know that your expertise is needed and in demand. Being unique is your greatest asset. Trust your instincts, be intentional and go crush those goals.
