September is an “in-between” month. Students are in-between the start of school and the middle of the semester, working adults are in-between wrapping up the fiscal year and starting to think about the next one, and everyone is in-between summer and fall. It might seem like we are hard-pressed to find things to celebrate during this liminal period, but fear not, there are many small holidays to celebrate this September with small businesses.

September 1^st: National Food Bank Day

• Mission Arlington: Giving back shouldn’t only be reserved for one day. Mission Arlington has unique volunteer opportunities all year round, so be sure to check it out for National Food Bank Day and every day.

September 2^nd: World Beard Day

September 2^nd: National Tailgating Day

• The Arlington Shop: Arlington is the capital of tailgating. Every game played here features an expert array of tailgates from all fan-bases. While there might not be a Cowboys home game on September 2^nd, prepare yourself for the sporty season ahead with the gear that is sure to make you stand out at every home game and tailgate.

September 4^th: Eat an Extra Desert Day

• Blush + Whisk: Blush + Whisk is the perfect place to eat one, or five, deserts this “Eat an Extra Desert Day”. Pick up any of their fan favorite pastry’s and enjoy.

September 5^th: National Cheese Pizza Day

• Brothers Pizza: Cheese pizza is an underrated classic. Don’t let this National Cheese Pizza Day pass you up without enjoying a slice from Brothers Pizza!

September 12^th: National Video Games Day

• Dave & Buster’s: What better way to celebrate National Video Games Day than to kick back old school style in the arcade! Enjoy the multiplayer extravaganza with friends and family.

September 13^th: National Kids Take Over the Kitchen Day

• Ann’s Natural Grocery & Nutrition: Get the kids all the essentials to take over the kitchen at Ann’s Natural Grocery & Nutrition. Sit back, relax, and let your kiddos cook up something yummy this September 13^th.

September 14^th: National Cream Filled Donut Day

• Shipleys Do-Nuts: It will be hard to just pick one donut from Shipleys this National Cream Filled Donut Day! With so many flavors to choose from, we might just have to get a dozen.

September 15^th: National Double Cheeseburger Day

• Boss Burgerz: Boss Burgerz specializes in grilling up the perfect cheeseburger. Make it a double and sit at their tables with the family this National Double Cheeseburger Day!

September 16^th: National Guacamole Day

• Qdoba: Did you know your first portion of guacamole on your burrito or bowl is free at Qdoba’s Mexican Eats? Enjoy your National Guac day at no extra cost this year!

September 21^st: Miniature Golf Day

• Alley Cats Entertainment: Play a couple rounds of putt-putt with family this Miniature Golf Day at Alley Cats! Be sure to also check out their bowling lanes and arcade while you are there.

September 26^th: National Dumpling Day

September 26^th: National Pancake Day

• Simply Divune Café: With a variety of breakfast options, and a killer “Lemon Blueberry Sour Cream Breakfast Cake”, Simply Divune is a great place to celebrate this National Pancake Day!
