Baseball Season is Here: The Economic Impact for Arlington Businesses

Excitement around the Texas Rangers Opening Day has arrived in Arlington! Today, April 11, 2022, is the first home game of the season and fans could not be more thrilled to fill Globe Life Field. Alongside the large amount of people from Arlington joining the home opener will be fans across the nation coming to support the Rangers. These fans will in turn bring business to locally-owned businesses.

The Rangers have even brought in a few small business restaurants to give fans easier access to eating local. Aziz Kobty from Prince Lebanese Grill was one of the few selected to have stand during this baseball season. The Lebanese Grill will be one of three local eateries that will be showcased as part of the Rangers Arlington Eats hospitality space. Hurtado Barbecue Co. and Ella B’s Restaurant will also be featured as local eateries. This space can be found near section 101 and the schedule for each featured restaurant can be found below:

  • Hurtado Barbecue Co.: First two home games and May 13 – 15
  • Ella B’s: April 15 – 17
  • Prince Lebanese Grill: April 29 – 31

The Texas Rangers will be taking on the Colorado Rockies for their home opener. It also marks the third opener for the team at Globe Life Field and is the 51st overall opening since the Rangers came to Arlington in 1972. This season is truly special since this is the 50th anniversary of the Texas Rangers playing in Arlington. For the last 50 years, the Rangers and their fans have brought so much to Arlington. Not only through cheers, but in economic development for small businesses.

We are so excited to see the team have a successful season and help bring more economic prosperity to the Arlington area!
