7 Ways to Celebrate Great Outdoors Month in Arlington

The month of June is recognized nationally as the Great Outdoors Month and there is no better place to celebrate than right here in Arlington. From RV Resorts to golf lessons, our Chamber members have you covered this month! Check out seven ways to enjoy the great outdoors with some of our partners.

  1. A great way to cool off from the Texas heat and get your adrenaline pumping is to visit Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Located in the heart of Arlington, Hurricane Harbor is an excellent way to get outdoors and spend time with your friends and family. Grab a day pass, or season passes to keep enjoying the water all summer long! While you are at the park be sure to check out all their dining options to get your favorite theme park food fix.

  2. Want to take a staycation this summer? Visit Treetops RV Resort on Arbrook BLVD. Bring your own RV or stay in one of their rental properties and enjoy the sunshine. With WiFi, biking, and campfires, Treetops is more like “glamping” than camping! Kids and pets are allowed, so pack up the whole family for a couple of days.
  3. River Legacy Park features scenic trails for hiking, walking, and biking. Appreciate the peace away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. Don’t forget to visit the Living Science Center to learn more about native species to the Arlington area, and support the further development of the park!
  4. Golden Gaits Stables gives kids and adults alike the opportunity to spend time learning how to ride beautiful horses. The stables are a great place to ride a horse, take some pictures, and spend time in nature. For more experienced riders, look into taking a trail ride for a more intensive experience.
  5. Levitt Pavilion is the perfect way to see all that Arlington’s music scene has to offer (we were named a “Music-Friendly” city after all). Levitt features a wide variety of performances all summer long at their outdoor pavilion, so grab your friends and family and enjoy. Some events are even free to attend, so there’s no excuse to skip out!

  6. A great way to spend some time outside is to play a round of golf! Check out Shady Valley Golf Corporation to play some rounds and enjoy the sunshine. Even if golf isn’t your thing, Shady Valley has plenty of other amenities to encounter. Need to brush up on your skills before playing with friends? Stop by Riverside Golf Club for golf instruction on great course. Lessons can be scheduled by phone at (817)640-7800. Ensure that you also look at their events calendar for upcoming discounted rates!
  7. Looking for something we haven’t listed? Check out the Park Finder on Arlington’s Parks and Recreation website for a list of all the free parks right here in Arlington. You can even filter by specific amenities if you have a certain purpose for your visit.

Celebrating the Great Outdoors is easy when you live in a city like Arlington! Be sure to get outside and check out all our favorite spots this summer.
