10 Holiday Events Happening This Holiday Season

After a year off of holiday celebrations, Arlington is slowly getting back into the swing of holiday fun for the whole family! I have curated a list of ten exciting holiday events happening in the Greater Arlington area this season.

1. Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags is having their 36th annual Holiday in the Park this year and it is bound to be a spectacular event. There will be more than two million lights lighting up the park, two new holiday shows and an all-new parade!

The parade, Holly Jolly Holiday Parade, will not only be stunning to look at with all the lights, but will also have festive characters and of course, Santa. The seven giant floats will be making their journey through the park starting November 26th.

We all know that the food is what truly gets us into the holiday spirit, and Six Flags Over Texas is delivering once again. They will have holiday treats throughout the park including Campfire Holiday S’mores, their famous Hot Cocoa, warm bread bowl soups and fresh baked cookies.

2. Arlington Holiday Lights Parade

Downtown Arlington is lighting up for the holidays! On December 11th, the Arlington Holiday Lights Parade is an all-ages holiday event where there will be different forms of entertainment from 2 to 8 PM.

From reindeer games to a spectacular tree lighting, you won’t want to miss all that this event has to offer. There will be plenty of food, drinks, and vendors to keep you going throughout the night. There will be a parade starting at 6 PM that will last for an hour and run right into the lighting of the tree.

After the tree lighting, you will have the opportunity to get pictures with Santa and the Levitt is graciously using their facilities for a movie screening right after the tree lighting.

Whichever part of the events you choose to partake in, you are bound to have a blast! Click Here, to get all of the details.

3. Pictures with Santa at the Parks Mall at Arlington

Do you need that perfect picture for your holiday cards? Or are you trying to make fun memories with your kids or pets? Well, I highly recommend getting tickets to Pictures with Santa at the Parks Mall.

St. Nick will be on the Lower-Level Center Court within the mall through Christmas Eve. There will be several special nights to get pictures with your pets and Santa. Those dates are Nov. 29, Dec. 6, Dec. 13, and Dec. 20. They are also offering specials time slots/days for sensory friendly visits so that everyone can enjoy a photo with Santa. These visits will happen on Dec. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon, and Dec. 12 from 9 to 11 a.m.

This event will be abiding by CDC best practices to keep Santa, the elves and all your families safe. Social distancing, face coverings and sanitization will be enforced at this event.

The free event is happening daily in December. Right now, we don’t have too much information on what the event will look like but that is why it is a must-see event!

The Interlochen neighborhood is located on Westwood Dr, Arlington, TX 76012.

5. The Elf on the Shelf Magical Holiday Journey at Choctaw Stadium

In the North Pole, Christmas spirit is running low. Only Arlington can help them rejuvenate that spirit!

Elf on the Shelf Magical Holiday Journey has finally arrived in Arlington. The event has been kept under wraps, so I’m not quite sure what to expect but it is marketed as an open-air experience. This holiday experience will be open until January 2, 2022, so feel free to bask in the Holiday spirit as we enter into the new year.
