SPEAKER: Kellie Manderfeld

TOPIC: Overcoming Procrastination: Building Habits and Mindsets to Align Your Thoughts with Actions

DESCRIPTION: “I work better under pressure (but I don’t like experiencing the pressure).” “I always mean to start in advance (but wind up waiting until the last minute anyway).” “I am just a procrastinator and always have been (but I don’t feel good describing myself that way).” These are common sentiments expressed by those who frequently procrastinate. Procrastination is often the result of a conflict between the head and the heart. It is the difference between what we intellectually know to be a good idea versus a thought, feeling, or belief that gets in the way of acting on that knowledge. In this session, we will explore the common contributors to procrastination and address them head-on with techniques to modify habits and mindsets that get in the way. With simple changes, we can use our time more effectively with less stress and greater life satisfaction.
