Join Chamber staff and members at the Levitt Pavilion for a free concert by The Rosemont Kings with Parker & Pat Duo!

The Rosemont Kings: Originating from a single block in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas, TX, The Rosemont Kings are a nine-piece band bonded by a love for classic soul and funk. The Kings layer 3-piece horns onto Stax inspired grooves with a dash of Texas Blues, and top it off with the smooth vocals of front man Kraig Loyd to create a sound that encapsulates the idea of “feel good” music.

It was in 2016, shortly after legendary musician Prince died, that a small group of neighbors from Oak Cliff came together to reminisce and find comfort in music. The friends didn’t know it then, but that impromptu jam session was the start of something incredibly funky.

The three neighbors formed a loose band that consisted of Robbie Good on bass, Richie Heffernan on drums and Bart Thrasher on guitar. At first, they called themselves Doghouse and only played Budos Band-inspired instrumentals, hoping to be able to one day add horns to the mix. Shortly after, Kraig Loyd, another neighbor from the end of the block on Rosemont, joined the mix to improvise lyrics and harmonies, and The Rosemont Kings was born.

Parker & Pat Duo: Patrick Pombuena and Gabriel Parker are a DFW-based dynamic duo! With Parker on trumpet and Pombuena on guitar, these two deliver an intimate performance that provides a personal take on R&B, soul, jazz and pop classics.
