Join us at the Chamber on the first Wednesday of the month from 3:00 to 4:00 to hear from and engage with industry leaders about how to grow, protect, and efficiently run your business.
TOPIC: Government Programs and Assistance for Your Business
Join us for an exclusive panel discussion featuring elected officials and government representatives as they provide an in-depth overview of the services and support available to businesses through their offices. Engage directly with the experts during an interactive Q&A session, and gain valuable insights to help your business thrive.
PANELISTS:
- Janie Havel is the North Texas Regional Representative for Governor Abbott in Economic Development and Tourism. As a member of the Economic Development Department, Janie serves as the liaison between the Governor’s Office and the cities and counties in her region which includes 49 counties. Before joining the Governor’s Office in 2006, she served the region as a representative for the Comptroller’s office, working in community outreach and with economic development sales tax statutes. A native of Cincinnati, Janie is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She and her husband Pete live in Dallas and their daughter Reagan attends Baylor University.
- Korry Castillo is the Associate Deputy Comptroller for Operations and Support at the Texas Comptroller’s Office. In her over 15 years with the office, she’s served in various roles including the Director of Property Tax Assistance and Director of Data Analysis and Economic Development.
- State Representative Salman Bhojani is a dedicated father and attorney from House District 92, which includes Euless and surrounding areas. As a naturalized U.S. citizen who immigrated from Pakistan, he made history as one of the first Muslims and South Asians elected to the Texas Legislature. Bhojani serves on the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence and the House Committee on Pensions, Investments, and Financial Services, where he works to represent the diverse needs of his constituents.
- Taishun Harrington is a Stakeholder Liaison for the IRS Communications and Liaison Division in Dallas, Texas, where she works with taxpayer communities, small businesses, and tax practitioners. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Human Resources from Keller Graduate School of Management.
- State Representative Tony Tinderholt is a father, 21-year retired military veteran, and Republican from House District 94, encompassing parts of Arlington, H-E-B, Fort Worth, Pantego, and Dalworthington Gardens. Tinderholt is serving his 5th term in the legislature and is a member of the Committee on Public Health and the Committee on County Affairs.
