DESCRIPTION: An overview of the City’s initiatives to celebrate Arlington’s 150th birthday
SPEAKER BIO: Jay Warren is an award-winning communications executive and former journalist who serves as Director of Communication and Legislative Affairs for the City of Arlington, Texas. Under his leadership, Arlington’s Office of Communication has earned more than 100 state and national awards for excellence in branding, video production, social media, website design, and marketing. He was named the 2023 Communicator of the Year by the national 3CMA organization and 2024 Communicator of Distinction by the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers (TAMIO). Before entering public service, Jay spent two decades in broadcast news, earning the Walter Cronkite Award for Individual Achievement, a national Peabody Award, and recognition as Associated Press Reporter of the Year. Jay is a past president of TAMIO and the Arlington Museum of Art, and currently serves as Treasurer of the 3CMA Board, on the Texas Municipal Retirement System Advisory Board, and as a board member for TCU’s Certified Communicator Program.
