We previously wrote a blog focused on the 11th annual Hiring Red, White & You job fair. The fair took place Thursday, November 10th, at Globe Life Field from 9 am to 2 pm and was a success! All 160 available employer booths were filled, and over 1,000 potential employees registered.
The following day, November 11th was Veterans day. A public holiday originating at the end of World War I to honor all US Veterans and celebrate their willingness to serve and sacrifice for their country. Texas is home to over 1.5 million veterans, one of the highest veteran populations in the country. Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County stages the Red White & You job fair to connect employers with veterans and their spouses. In the eleven years the event has occurred, over 114,000 job seekers statewide have been connected with job opportunities, with over 3,000 being same-day hires.
On the Workforce Solutions website, you can find a list of the employers and their open positions for this year’s event. Some companies in attendance include Quantem Aviation Services, Lockheed Martin, United Auto Credit Corp, and many more. Businesses were hiring for a wide range of positions across all skill levels. Mayor Ross and local, state, and community elected officials were in attendance for a ribbon cutting before opening. Pictured below is Mayor Ross giving a few encouraging words on the importance of this fair to the Arlington Community and its veteran population.
