“All Systems Go” was the appropriate theme of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner held September 19th at the Arlington Convention Center. President and CEO, Michael Jacobson explained that the theme of the event represents accomplishments this year and everything that is on the horizon for the community, the Chamber, and our members.
The Chamber’s sponsors were recognized at the Annual Meeting and Dinner for helping us achieve our core strategies. This year, the Chamber focused on expanding our convening power and researching our membership.
While addressing the audience, Chair of the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Carl Cravens, explained: “With the assistance of an intern from the nationally acclaimed UTA College of Business Masters in Marketing Research Program, we now know we have a large number of members who are labeled as Promoters.” Cravens emphasized the significance of these results, “The research made it abundantly clear everyone in this room is vital to growing and maintaining our Chamber of Commerce. Whether you are on the Board, an Ambassador, in a Lead’s Group or on a Council or Committee, you are all an integral part of the future of this growing Chamber.”
Caverns addressed the Chamber’s strong advocacy for pro-business policies at the state and federal levels and the successes of this year’s third legislative session. “Working in collaboration with our elected officials at the state level, our local and county elected officials, our educators at the University of Texas at Arlington and Tarrant County College, and our local Board of Trustees at the Arlington ISD and other school districts, we have made positive change”.
We celebrated a total yearly attendance of almost 20,000 members at all of our events which helped our membership base of more than 1,100 build meaningful relationships and strengthen their business. While the accomplishments of the Chamber were discussed, Jacobson also spoke about exciting changes underway.
President & CEO Micheal Jacobson announced the highly anticipated launch of the Chamber’s new website along with the benefits it will provide members. Thanks to the Chamber’s partnership with Thrive, the site will be launched in early October. The new website was created with members in mind and will be mobile-friendly, easier to navigate, and will have fresh content. Chamber members will have the ability to submit blog posts and be featured through our “membership spotlight.” While Jacobson discussed exciting developments for the Chamber, he also recognized the strength and growth of our community.
The Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner celebrated the growth of greater Arlington, the support from the cities in the greater Arlington region, the dedication of our members and the opportunities created by our educational partners. With everyone invested in the future of the greater Arlington region, we truly are “All Systems Go.”
