Last Thursday, DFW residents and visitors flooded Globe Life Field to join the Texas Rangers for Opening Day celebrations!
On March 30th, people came out in droves to watch the 2023 season opener between our very own, Texas Rangers and the Philadelphia Phillies. This season marks the 51st year of the Rangers playing in Arlington and the third year of playing in their new facilities at Globe Life Field. If you weren’t able to attend the game or watch it at home, check out the small recap of the game below.
As the game began, hopes were high for both of the teams as they loaded the bases and the first player got up to bat. By the bottom of the fourth inning, things were starting to look a little bleak for the Rangers as the Phillies were up five. Luckily, the Rangers never back down from a good fight, and they recovered by scoring nine runs in just one lineup. Ranger fans were elated at this turn of events and electrified the stadium with their cheers.
Heading into the fifth inning, it really was anyone’s game as the Rangers proved that anything could happen on that field. The Rangers kept their pace and swept the defending National League Champions. A few innings later the Rangers ended up victorious against the Phillies with a score of 11-7, respectively.
This game truly showed the heart of Arlington and how even when others thing we are down and out, we pick ourselves back up again and run the bases! It is a true pleasure to have baseball right in our backyard here in Arlington and we hope that you will come support the Texas Rangers at a future home game! As you can tell the games are quite eventful plus you can enjoy some of the amazing food our members have to offer in the Arlington Eats section of the ballpark.
