Six Flags Over Texas Donates Food to Arlington Charity

Six Flags Over Texas / Hurricane Harbor have a special place in the hearts of greater Arlington residents. In 1961, Six Flags opened its first theme park in Arlington, Texas. Our original theme park is a source of local pride, and Six Flags Over Texas has contributed so much to our community since its opening.

Members of greater Arlington can count on Six Flags Over Texas to spread joy and kindness. Throughout the year, Six Flags Over Texas contributes to a variety of local non-profits including Mission Arlington. Now that we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic, Six Flags Over Texas is once again making a difference.
The theme park is making the best out of their unexpected closure by donating more than 3,500 pounds of food, including fresh produce, hamburger patties, cheese and fun treats like marshmallows and cotton candy. This generous donation has impacted so many families in our community.

“We value being part of the community and realize the importance of stepping up and giving back, especially during this time. We are proud to help organizations, such as, Mission Arlington who are doing so much for so many,” said Six Flag Over Texas’ Marketing Director Jim Brothers.

The Chamber is proud to see Six Flags Over Texas supporting our community and continuing to bring joy to people’s lives in the midst of being temporarily closed. We are looking forward to supporting and enjoying Six Flags Over Texas’ thrilling rides and themed celebrations with our families when they reopen.
