The Chamber Ambassadors attended an amazing Ribbon Cutting with Taste Community Restaurant!
In partnership with the City of Arlington, Taste Project’s new Taste Community Restaurant location adds one of Yelp’s Top 100 Best Places to Eat in the U.S. to Arlington’s growing list of dining options in Downtown. The nonprofit, established to help feed, educate, and serve Tarrant County’s food-insecure residents, has served more than 250,000 meals since opening its initial Taste Community Restaurant in Fort Worth in 2017.
Like the Fort Worth location, this new Arlington site has no listed menu prices for its healthy, high-quality meals, which are made from local, seasonal ingredients. Instead, diners are encouraged to pay what they can afford, pay what they would typically pay, or pay a little extra to help a neighbor in need. Additionally, Taste Project offers culinary job training, providing paid work experience for low-income adults.
Located on North Cooper Street, this new facility features a 100-plus-seat full-service restaurant, a production kitchen, a culinary classroom, a private dining room, and a headquarters office. It is within walking distance of The University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, and numerous downtown homes and businesses.
