Businesses around the nation are rallying together to support people in any way possible. Greater Arlington is stronger together, and the Chamber is proud to see businesses giving back. Reliant is one of the many companies generously supporting greater Arlington and communities around the nation during this unprecedented time.
Reliant and its parent company, NRG Energy, Inc. donated $2 million to pandemic relief efforts. The contribution will help provide food, mortgage and rent assistance, senior services, medical and dental services and job resources. $100,000 will directly go towards DFW nonprofits that serve the people of greater Arlington. The local nonprofit Mission Arlington received $25,000 from Reliant to continue to help those in need within our community.
“Reliant is dedicated to helping our fellow Texans during this uncertain time and making sure our communities have access to the basic necessities they critically need,” said Elizabeth Killinger, president, Reliant. “We are incredibly moved by the work local nonprofits are doing to help care for our neighbors, and we are honored to help light the way by supporting these crucial services.”
Reliant’s recent donation nonprofits across the nation comes on the heels of the company’s recent $100,000 contribution to Baylor Scott & White Health, which will support its MyBSWHealth mobile app that is aiding in the fight against COVID-19. This April, Reliant also donated $25,000 to the MedStar Mobile Healthcare Foundation in support of DFW-area first responders.
The Chamber is proud to see its members supporting the community and other businesses. Reliant and all the community members and organizations giving back embody the generosity within our community.
