Created by the Greater Arlington Chamber Women’s Alliance in 2014, the Rising Star Award recognizes women who are paving the way for significant, community impact. Although early in our career and investment, there is no shortage of strong leadership, a commitment to positive change and a desire to have a lasting impact on the well-being of others in our community.
This year’s Rising Star Award went to Amy Cearnal. Amy is a true Arlington girl. Born and raised here, she traveled just a few miles north to UNT for her undergrad and master’s degree. She has built a thriving real estate business in downtown Arlington with her husband Spencer. Even with the chaos that comes with being the mom of three boys, Amy is actively involved in the greater Arlington community which includes serving as chair of the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation.
The nomination committee received an abundance of letters in support of Amy, and we wanted to share with you just a few quotes.
“Amy is a person who is truly making a difference in Arlington through her business and as a wife, mother and community volunteer.”
“At her business, Amy leads her team with a focus on education and growth. She gives her time as much as she gives financially, all the while, leading with a quiet calm that many of us can learn from.”
“Amy is a true gift to the community and truly a rising star.”
Congratulations, Joni! And, congratulations to all the scholarship winners, past Hero and Rising Star recipients, the nominees and finalists. All of these women help greater Arlington succeed.
