The Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce Women’s Alliance created the Hero Award back in 2011 to acknowledge an influential woman, nominated by our community, for her incredible contributions to greater Arlington. These women have left their everlasting mark on greater Arlington.
The Hero Award Recipient for 2019 is Joni Wilson. Joni is an Arlington native that truly believes in investing in the community. She’s an active member on many boards including the Greater Arlington Chamber, the Salvation Army Inspiring Hope Committee, and the Longhorn Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
A few quotes from her letters of support shows how deserving Joni is of this award.
“Joni is personable and has a great sense of humor. She sincerely cares about her coworkers and is always thinking of new ways to enhance the daily work life of those around her.”
“Joni’s character, a track record of integrity, and service to her employer, community, church, family, and friends have never wavered. In all areas of her life, she is reliable, helpful and straightforward.”
“Joni is a leader that knows how to seek input from a group, build consensus and keep the process moving. She gives it her all and finishes as strong as she started, always with a smile and a laugh. AND, she’s never worried about who gets credit… now that’s what I call a hero!”
Congratulations, Joni! And, congratulations to all the scholarship winners, past Hero and Rising Star recipients, the nominees and finalists. All of these women help greater Arlington succeed.
