The Texas Rangers Summer Reading Club is underway in over 20 participating libraries across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. 2022 marks the 20th year of the Rangers Summer Reading Program, encouraging area students to set and exceed reading goals while on summer vacation.
Rangers Hall of Fame broadcaster Eric Nadel will serve as the honorary chairman of the Rangers Reading Club for the seventh consecutive year and will host two in-person readings at libraries in Dallas and Arlington.
New this year, children 12 years old and younger who attend an Eric Nadel reading event can enter to win the Summer Reading Club prize pack, which includes four game tickets, a pre-game tour of Globe Life Field, an inning in the radio booth with Nadel, and the opportunity to make the PLAY BALL call before a game.
Reading logs and additional information on the program is available at all participating libraries for students in grades K through 12. To become an official summer Reading Club All-Star, students will record the number of minutes they read Monday through Friday over four weeks.
Reading Club participants will receive a club bookmark and are eligible for discounted tickets to the Rangers home game against the Seattle Mariners on Sunday, August 14. Students can check with their local library for more details on how to earn the discounted ticket, priced at just $5 per student.
Family members and friends may buy additional tickets at a discounted price for the August 14 game, if purchased in advance, while supplies last. For questions about the 2022 Texas Rangers Summer Reading Club tickets, please email Alex Parisi at AParisi@texasrangers.com.
