The Third Annual Legends and Leaders event with the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Rangers was a hit! This event was the first event at the new Live! By Loews hotel.
Alex Tisch, Chief Commercial and Development Officer of Loews Hotels & Co., said “We want to make sure that we can create a four-star luxury environment. We want people who show up at our hotels to know that you are getting luxury and a lot of local flavor.”
The Live! By Loews hotel dedicated to making luxury and customer service prominent in their business. Their company culture is a way that they are achieving this goal. “The real culture is not the building, but the people who you empower to do their jobs correctly, and to make sure that they get the customer interaction with every person here perfect. That’s really what makes this business and companies different from others,” Tisch said.
Legends and Leaders also featured a panel of the past and present General Managers of the Texas Rangers. The panel included: Jon Daniels, Doug Melvin and Tom Grieve. They discussed their career highs and lows.
Grieve talked about how he enjoyed working closely with former President, George W. Bush when he co-owned the Rangers. Melvin described what it was like for the team to go to the playoffs in 1997 and 1998, and also signing Alex Rodriguez to the team. Lastly, Daniels discussed the Cliff Lee acquisition and how the team was excited to gain an amazing pitcher that ultimately landed them in the World Series in 2010.
