The Pillars of High Performance
Based upon the High-Performance Institute’s World’s Largest Study of High Performance, the world’s most successful individuals overcome challenges by mastering these six habits:
- Clarity: Having a clear understanding of goals and priorities.
- Energy: Maintaining high energy levels through physical and mental well-being.
- Necessity: Recognizing the importance of a task and its impact on overall goals.
- Productivity: Efficiently managing time and resources to achieve results.
- Influence: Building strong relationships and inspiring others.
- Courage: Overcoming fear and taking risks to achieve success.
High performers also master these six key areas:
- Productivity: Efficiently planning and executing tasks.
- People: Building strong relationships and fostering collaboration.
- Psychology: Managing thoughts and emotions to maintain a positive mindset.
- Physiology: Taking care of physical health through exercise, nutrition, and sleep.
- Presence: Living in the moment and being fully engaged.
- Purpose: Aligning actions with personal values and goals.
Specific Tips and Strategies
But how do you become a master of the above areas? Through these strategies:
- Psychology: Managing negative thoughts and focusing on the positive.
- Physiology: Following the MEDS RX (Meditation, Exercise, Diet, Sleep, Relationships, X=Supplementation) for optimal health. (Borrowed from Brendon Burchard)
- Productivity: Planning ahead, using block time, and involving family in goal-setting.
- People: Approaching networking with genuine curiosity and a focus on helping others.
- Presence: Living in the present moment and avoiding dwelling on the past or future.
- Purpose: Living intentionally and aligning actions with personal values.
By incorporating these habits and principles into their lives, individuals can increase their chances of achieving high performance and fulfillment.
